In an aesthetic sense I really like 'ghost bikes'. (A purely American phenomenon as far as I can tell.) But I can't get over the fact that they can't but contribute to scaring people away from getting around by bike.

Rather than celebrating the dead, why not set up a donation fund to help build safe cycle lanes - or lobby for them, that's how America works, right?
