I'm engaged in a relocation to Portland, OR. My body arrived three weeks ago, my bikes two weeks ago, and my mind and spirit are expected any day now. Being a bike person in Portland is pretty much yesterday's news, so I'm going to lie low for a bit, watch and listen. Feel free to get in touch if in you're in this area--I don't have a lot of friends here.

So I quoted your book in my blog this morning. I don't live in Portland, but I'm working there the first week in August (seen those big banners around the Oregon Convention Center for Sock Summit? weird, but true and fun) and I am bringing my new bike with me.

Okay. So I'm confused.
You are not the author of the book I quoted on my blog this morning (that's Chip Haynes' The Practical Cyclist), but you ARE the author of the website and blog known as The Practical Cyclist, which is equally fantastic and supportive of the type of riding I am doing.
I've read your whole website in the process of getting my bike thing together, but just realized there are at least two "practical cyclists." Which is a good thing, once I get it clear that who is who.
